Today I Learned...

So today I learned random things and I don't know why but I felt like sharing them, so here we go.

I realized I love the movie V for Vendetta. The plot was so deep, and it was based off of '1984' an amazing book. The whole idea of a government world is crazy, but scary enough not far off what we are coming to. What if we lost all rights to our thoughts, but we didn't even know we lost them? I fright a world like that.

I learned strange things about Abraham Lincoln. Like he grew a beard because a girl told him he would get more female supports.

I learned lugubrious (La-Goo-Bre-Us) is a word. I have no idea what it means, but it's a word that sound funny. (Remember it's like 2:00 A.M. and I'm sleep deprived)

Finally, I learned new quotes...

"One song is silent, but a chorus is not." -Me.

"Show me a hero and I'll write you a tragedy." -F. Scott Fitzgerald

"No hero is mortal till he dies." -W. H. Auden

"Hard times don't create heroes. It is during the hard times when the 'hero' within us is revealed." -Bob Riley

"One murder made a villain, Millions a hero." -Beilby Porteus

"Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot... But what of the man? I know his name was Guy Fawkes and I know, in 1605, he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. But who was he really? What was he like? We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. I've witnessed first hand the power of ideas, I've seen people kill in the name of them, and die defending them... but you cannot kiss an idea, cannot touch it, or hold it... ideas do not bleed, they do not feel pain, they do not love... And it is not an idea that I miss, it is a man... A man that made me remember the Fifth of November. A man that I will never forget. " -V for Vendetta

I don't know why but I like that quote from the movie, and oddly enough I almost no it to memory. Ugh I need to go to sleep, or get a boyfriend!

That's all of my pointless and random rant.

  1. Those were some really good quotes, I love quotes about heroes for some reason ^^; My favourite is from The Dark Knight 'You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain'.
